Star Girl

She's never wrong, she's never right
She loves to argue and hates to fight
She wants to know it all, information has her in its thrall
Yet her curiosity is sometimes her downfall

She loves the dark and all the stars in the night
Crawling from her bed, she is up at first light
Just to see the sunrise and delight at the wondrous sight
Then back to bed with a cold and stuffy head,
Willing to risk it for the beautiful white light

She is patient, she is kind
She holds secrets in her mind
She is compassionate and often giving
Hording her memories and her misgivings

She is a wise, thinking long
On all those things that have gone wrong
She is clueless, why cant she see
The things that go wrong are simply debris
In a wonderful masterpiece

She is different, so very unique
Not afraid to stand out or be the centerpiece
Sometimes she worries, sometimes she fears
She's over stepped her boundaries and caused someone tears

She is stressed just like everyone else
So few pebbles and one sad mouse
She dreams of a boy, so many tears has she shed
Is he really worth the pain, or the darkness in her head

She is a girl with no super powers
Sometimes she sits and wastes away the hours
She's still a teenager, rampant emotions run wild
Just because she's wise doesn't mean she's not a child

She still gets hurt
She still cries
She still feels lost
And sometimes little pieces of her die

We're all fighting for our souls
Fighting to stay alive
Fighting to keep that part of us
That helps us to survive

She is StarGirl
Just like me
I look to her and that's when i see
She's not immortal, she's simply the key

Just a girl trying to ignite a light in the dark
Hoping the world isent really so stark
Trying to help people to see that the light
Contains far more colors than just black and white
